I called people and asked for work: Sushmita Sen

Bollywood queen Sushmita Sen's career is a dazzling success story. When she entered Bollywood after winning the Miss Universe title in 1994, the title of 'Miss Universe' was attached to her name. After that, she won the hearts of the audience by giving one hit film after another. From Shah Rukh Khan to Salman Khan - he had great chemistry with almost all the big stars of Bollywood. However, at one point, his chariot of success suddenly came to a halt. He was unemployed for eight long years!

In a recent interview with Mid-Day India in 2023 that went viral, Sushmita Sen candidly recounted that difficult time, revealing the real-life frustrations and struggles of Sushmita behind the glamour. In the video that went viral, Sushmita said, 'My name is Sushmita Sen. I am an actress, I used to be. And I want to come back and work again. I need help, because I haven't done any work for 8 years, it's a very long time.' He said that in those long 8 years, he did not receive any job offers from any producer or platform. Frustrated, he finally gathered the courage and called up various OTT platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hotstar and asked for work.

In Sushmita's words, 'I myself have called people and asked for work, so that they understand how much I need work, how hungry I am, that I want to work, that I am looking for work.'

However, Sushmita thanked the courage and patience for getting through this difficult time. She said, "This time was the biggest test of my confidence and mental strength."

Currently, this Bollywood diva is ruling the digital platform. She returned to the limelight with the web series 'Ariya' and was highly appreciated by the audience.
